Help! Turkey advice!

Where did that bird go?
~*~

I have a feeling that prices will greatly vary for a bird this month and I'm asking for your help and your advice... I'm considering buying two turkeys. One for Thanksgiving, and one for the freezer to be used later. The prices are usually never as low as around the Thanksgiving holiday per pound for turkeys and my budget demands that I shop around.

I know we all live in different places but in general... What would you pay or consider to pay for a already FROZEN Thanksgiving Turkey, either by the pound or if they have a deal for the bird itself based on total weight?
Thank you in advance!

Winco my dear. Last year got a frozen 17 lb turkey for $8 I think it was. Really, check them out.

That's a hilarious drawing!!

I'm not sure where you live in the USA but we almost always buy our frozen turkeys at either Kroger or Wal-Mart. They're fairly inexpensive but I can't remember the price per pound. Sometimes we pay the local Patterson IGA to smoke one for us, we pick it up the day before. The IGA does a super job. YUM! ♥ ∞

I am not above buying frozen or buying fresh and freezing it for later... whatever works. I realize that I never really pay attention to the price per kg/lb... I tend to look at the price of the bird in general. I usually pay around twenty dollars for my gobbler. You should check Costco!

Even the "fresh" turkeys are frozen at some point, so just shop around and buy fresh or frozen at the best price. I don't recall if they are cheaper towards thanksgiving or not. I think they run about the same all month. We ususally just watch the papers and when we find a good deal we buy the turkey lurkey.
