Patriotic Memories!
July is nearly over and I realized I forgot to post our 4th of July memory! For the 4th we had to travel to find a town that still had funds in the budget for fireworks. We decided if we were going to make the LONG drive, we'd make a memory and have a special dinner treat at Sonic Drive-In! Sonic is really fun for kids as the atmosphere is Retro dining in your car.
Sonic also has lots of choices...
...lots and lots of choices! It took us a full 10 minutes just to decide, whew!
Here the kids are watching for our waitress to roll up on her roller skates to bring us our food!

Then we headed to the park and waited for the sun to go down.
They had a local band play 70's & 80's classic rock n' roll and we did our best to keep the kids busy.

Good memories! Nice ending: fireworks.
Looks like you all had a great time. Many towns around us had to cut their celebrations short too. So many people were expected to make the drive to our local show that we stayed home! We did enjoy the parade in the morning though!

Where did you end up going? We use to go to Livermore and they had it orchestrated with music. Just beautiful1!!

Looks like so much fun! You know, I've never been to a Sonic but I've heard they have the best milkshakes. I think it's so neat that the waitresses bring you your food on roller skates!
Do you guys have any "5 Guys" in your area? They're popping up all over the country and their burgers are my favorite. Of course, I still have to try Sonic's. I'm sure those are great too judging by that picture you shared. :)
I love Sonic's Cherry Limeades. Yum! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful 4th. That's that way it ought to be.
