Top 100 Books

The BBC say the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books on their list.

A new blog that I've found at bygonebeauty had the following post invited us to join in. I'm a pretty obsessive reader, reading all the time from different sources. My man wonders how I can read in the living room with the kids playing and the TV on... my reply was... "I'm a Mother... I can easily tune it out. Yep, no problem." He shakes his head because his style is in a room alone in complete silence with no distractions.

I agree with Kalianne that a reading sabbatical would be absolutely wonderful! If you'd like to participate in this meme simply copy the list and follow the instructions below. Don't worry if you haven't read many books - the list is only the BBC opinion. Be sure to include the books you'd like to read too and those you think should be struck off the list. Feel free to list books not on the list that you deem worthy. Finally, be sure to post a comment so we know where to find you!

1) Look at the list and bold those you have READ (watching the movie doesn't count!).

2) Italicize those you intend to read.

3) Underline the books you love.

4) Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading, or were forced to read at school and hated.

5) Reprint this list in your own blog.

Hi Janeen,

I'm sorry to have missed your post! I re-checked comments on the book meme post. Formerly I thought I'd visited. I'm so glad I double-checked today!

Thanks so much for participating. It's great to meet other ladies that love to read good literature! I like your additions and agree - there is abundance of wonderful books and poverty of time to enjoy them!
