Mess me Up!

~*~

I want to say a profound THANK YOU for the outreach of love this week.  “Thank you” is the appropriate thing to say but it doesn’t express my heart felt gratitude of having a broader family… my church family.  I was in a car accident coming home from bible study last week.  I was rear-ended 3 times…and with such force that the impacts pushed me into the cars in front of me leaving my car with extensive front and rear end damage.  My car is a wreck… all messed up… probably totaled, just waiting for confirmation.

Just moments before sending the ladies home for the evening I prayed over them and myself as I was looking forward to our church women’s retreat and wanting Jesus to give me something special because being on the retreat team I already knew all the plans that went into the weekend we had scheduled for our ladies.  I prayed Jesus would give me something that wasn’t on the agenda, something I didn’t already know would happen behind the scenes, something to MESS ME UP…. I left myself open to his solution. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I got messed up all right.  Not exactly what I had in mind.  I was thinking more on my knees with a pile of hankies from a sweet encounter with God.

Thankfully I walked away with a sound mind and some aches, pains that have already substantially healed.  I’ve gotten a few “Be careful what you pray for, you just might get it…” remarks that I have giggled along with too, but I can honestly say that if our heavenly Father will allow this kind of circumstance in response to my prayer then I’m going to pray for even more of his open ended solutions for what I want.  I’m asking my relatives and close friends to be saved, asking to live out the truths of grace in tough environments, asking to live with great faith in circumstances that I don’t understand… I’m asking for everything, including his hand in the decision of my new car.

Of course I have to keep my sense of humor in all this… I’m borrowing my parents 1989 Oldsmobile and I jokingly said that now I really DO look like the hanky lady! Ha Ha

First of all...I'm very happy you're OK!!

My daughter and I were involved in a 5 car pile-up once...no major injuries for anyone, thankfully!

About the prayer...I believe if we, as Christians, understood exactly who were are in Christ, we'd see a lot more power in our lives and in our prayers.

Thank God your ok and the kids were not in the car! I know it's not God who wants to mess you up and throw you off track.

How you deal with this will be a powerful witness to all the non Christians who are watching.

Love ya Sister!

Praise God that you are okay...I'm sure He will take care of the car in one way or another.

I have a God story too. I've been praying for my youngest son for a while now...he's not into anything really bad...just not where he should be.

So a few weeks ago his car died. He didn't have any money saved, due to spending what extra he did have when he was out of a job for a while. Anyway, the very day he was about to purchase a car (which he was going to have to work a second job to pay for)...he was at the dealership when he got a text from his brother asking for him to not buy anything but rather call him first. When he called his big brother told him that God told him to give younger brother his car. TJ (youngest son) couldn't understand why anyone would give him a car...big brother told him he didn't really understand either, but he just needed to take it. So TJ did.

I'm trusting that God is working in TJ's heart through Brandon's act of obedience. It is such a comfort knowing that God heard my prayers and cares.

(((Janeen)))! What a traumatic experience but you surely sound as if your humor will help you recover well although you may feel the aches and pains for a bit, still.

One never knows the reasons why things happen and sometimes it takes sometime later to see why. I returned home after my car accident which allowed me to become my niece's surrogate mother
after sister's passing. I couldn't see the reason during that time; not until years later.

I'm so glad that you weren't seriously hurt although all that you're going through should never be underestimated. Love you, Janeen, and stay well. This too shall pass! :))

Bless your heart! Thank the Lord Jesus you are unharmed!! And the kids weren't with you! I hope you got checked out with X-rays and stuff too. I know you may feel OK but don't leave it at that, 'k? Guess y'all will be buying a new set of wheels. I pray the insurance company will do right by you too.

Thinking of you tonight in our very chilly southeast Georgia. Prayers for you and family.

God bless ~ Sparky :)

HI Gorgeous!

We are sunny and warm here in California but I wish we had your weather. I lurve the Fall season best!

My car was officially totaled by insurance and we just literally got our money this weekend, so now we can start shopping. And yes we were blessed with the outcome as they gave us a lot more than we thought we'd get as they told us when the car was inspected it was in VERY good condition (interior, etc) so that's why I came out ahead. I was so happy and proud with it being an 8 yr old car and raised two children in car seats in it. YEA!!!
